Illegal: Complaint Claims Dixon Campaign Accepted Donation from ‘Non-Existent’ Group

MICHIGAN — Michigan Strong, a super PAC backing establishment Republican Tudor Dixon, accepted an illegal contribution according to a complaint filed by Lisa Honeycutt of Grand Rapids.

The complaint pointed out that Michigan Strong PAC received a $5,000 contributions from Tudor PAC even thought no entity called Tudor PAC exists. The complaint states, “Michigan Strong accepted an anonymous contribution or a contribution by a person in the name other than the name under which that person is identified for legal purposes. Further, Michigan Strong knowingly filed an incomplete and inaccurate campaign statement by accepting and reporting an illegal donation from an unknown unregistered PAC.”

The Michigan Strong website states: “Michigan Strong is a political action committee dedicated to electing Tudor Dixon Governor of Michigan in 2022. Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been a disaster for Michigan. Her failures can be measured in so many ways, from the businesses destroyed, nursing home deaths hidden, lives ruined, learning lost, and futures wrecked. Whitmer must be defeated. Tudor Dixon is the right Republican to take on Whitmer, expose her failures, and project a positive, winning conservative vision.”

The organization is ran by Fred Wszolek, a long-time member of the Michigan Republican establishment.
