Mark Tisdel, Republican State Representative candidate of District 45, has a dangerous outlook on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that could leave Michiganders at risk of losing their health insurance.
Mark Tisdel has a track record of opposing the ACA. From the moment it was created, Tisdel has attacked it. He has said it was too expensive and called for it to be abolished from the beginning. His opposition has been a direct attack on those with pre-existing conditions and women as shown below:
Mark Tisdel’s attacks on the Affordable Care Act have continued, leading to the spread of misinformation. He shared Mike Bishop’s claim that he protected those with pre-existing conditions, which was proven false. Tisdel continues to suggest false and simplified alternatives to health insurance options. He’s suggested ending tax deductions for health insurance premiums, putting the sole financial responsibility on employees of companies, leaving many at risk of being unable to afford their health care.
Related to health care protections, Mark Tisdel also has a history of opposing a woman’s right to choose. He has supported overturning Roe vs. Wade, has opposed abortion even in instances of rape and incest, and has supported women being denied health care based on a health providers religious views.
Tisdel’s continued attacks on the Affordable Care Act are dangerous. His outlook has the potential of leaving hundreds of thousands of Michiganders, especially those with pre-existing conditions, at risk of losing their health insurance.
