DETROIT — The Michigan Democratic Party held its nominating convention this weekend to endorse a slate of candidates for statewide office. The nominations are for positions that will be formally nominated by the Party at its state convention later in the year.
Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson were endorsed for re-election to their respective positions as was current Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein. To fill the other position on the ballot for Supreme Court, Democrats chose State Representative Kyra Harris Bolden.
In addition to Attorney General, Secretary of State and Supreme Court, the Party also made endorsements for the states four education boards:
State School Board: Pamela Pugh and Mitchell Robinson
University of Michigan: Michael Behm and Kathy White
Michigan State University: Dennis Denno and Renee Knake Jefferson
Wayne State University: Danielle Atkinson and Marilyn Kelly
